We, the People

From one of our federal employees, a bald expression of contempt for the democractic process and of government of the people, by the people, and for the people:

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: It seems like the public has turned against [the war] right now.

DICK CHENEY: It may not be popular with the public. It doesn't matter in the sense that we have to continue the mission and do what we think it right, and that's exactly what we're doing. We're not running for office, we're doing what we think [is] right.

Unchallenged by Stephanopolous, needless to say, as was the President's assertion a few weeks ago that he had never "been" stay-the-course.
